Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American producer, actress and director. She is most famous for her character as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick received an Emmy Award in 2010 and an Emmy Award in 2010 and a Golden Globe Award for 2007 for her portrayal Johnson. The series ended following its seventh season. Sedgwick is also known for her role as a regular on Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated for a Golden Globe award in 1995 for her role on Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's other film appearances include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's singles (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) The cooking (2000), Secondhand Lions (2003), The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald, Speech and Family Therapist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV Venture capitalist. Her birthplace was in New York City. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was an Episcopalian, with English descent. Sedgwick has declared herself Jewish and has said she is a part of Passover seders.
